An RF Engineering Technician. This position is part time. We are only accepting candidates local to Milwaukee, WI.
The RF Engineering Technician will work under the direction of a technical lead and be part of a design team, working in a lab environment conducting tests and aiding in the integration of the design at the board, module, and higher levels of product integration. The RF Engineering Technician will be a working member of the overall RF/Systems Engineering team on next generation wireless products and will be responsible for defining, developing, automating, and executing RF test plans for novel wireless radio products. The RF Engineering Technician will read product specifications and work with the RF design team to build boards, derive testing requirements, develop test plans, automate test setups, and post-process results to generate reports. The RF Engineering Technician will be part of a small engineering team and will be responsible for everything from helping bring up new RF hardware to performing and reporting on the RF testing performed. They will also help support customer bring-up and evaluation of CEL RF products.

On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Develop, build, modify, and test electrical and electronic apparatus and equipment - Handle electronic fabrication, packaging, and assembly of components into complex electronic equipment systems. - Operate various laboratory instruments in support of wireless and RF system testing - Assemble prototypes and test them. Troubleshoot printed circuit board design - Assist in conducting experiments, acquiring data, and analyzing results. - Develop test software and operate test equipment to validate electronic systems
- Initiative to resolve issues, complete projects, and make recommendations for process improvements - Organization skills, self discipline, motivation, and a desire to learn - 2 year technical degree from college, university, or accredited program - 1 year electronics test and measurement practical experience or commensurate training - LabVIEW (or other automation) software development experience desired - "Hands on" soldering skills including down to the 0201 size chip components - Experience with WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee protocols - "Hands on" experience using RF test equipment such as: - Networks analyzers - Signal generators - Spectrum analyzers - Amplifiers - Splitters - Switches - Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Intermediate knowledge of electronics design/manufacturing a plus - RF electronics practical experience or coursework a plus - Automated Test Environment (ATE) design/build/support experience a plus - Experience with FCC/RED Certification processes a plus
